Traveling during the winter is often cold, snowy, and less than ideal. Although it can be a challenge to get away during the colder months, people still do and find warm winter vacation locations each year. But where exactly should they go?

There are many vacation spots to choose from around the world, but what if you want a winter wonderland during your holiday but at the same time want to escape the harsh winters of your locality? A warm locale in winter will allow you to enjoy the snowy mountains, yet stay warm and snugly indoors. There are a few locations where you can find this dreamy combination.

As this cold winter season comes to an end, I’m sure many of you are looking for a place to spend your vacation. Sure, you could stay at home where it’s warm and toasty (hopefully) but not every location is appealing all the time. With that said, I’ve put together my list of top places to visit in the next couple months if you’re looking for something else.

Sure, the next few months promise to bring heaps of frigid fun. The winter also makes Jack Frost a permanent resident. It won’t be long before the thermometer in your neck of the woods dances around 32°F and sharp, piercing gusts penetrate the umpteen layers you carefully put on before leaving the house. Between December and February, it’s not so much a cold snap as a long, extended freeze with a solid chance of precipitation. Why should you grin and bear it while the wind is chilling you to the bone and you’ve lost feeling in all extremities? Don’t you deserve a reprieve from arctic temperatures and icy roads? We think so!

1. Sri Lanka

6. Saint Lucia

The winter woes simply don’t exist in Saint Lucia – not with sunny skies, blue waters, volcanic beaches, and stiff rum cocktails. Volcanic beaches, posh spas, and hot springs beckon relaxation seekers, while adrenaline-pumping ziplines and dive sites attract more active types.
