Many years back I went on holiday to Park City. I was never much of a skiier, but there were a few fun things to do besides the main attraction; such as ice skating at Dutch Miller Amphitheatre and taking a gondola up the mountain to see vistas you could never get from the ground.

Located in the Wasatch Mountains around 40 minutes from Salt Lake City’s international airport, Park City is a year-round destination that is also home to the largest ski resort in the U.S. The town itself has a historical legacy dating back to the late 1800s gold rush, and you’ll find hotels and resorts for all budgets, both in the town itself and at the base of the mountains comprising Park City Mountain Resort.

Nearby Deer Valley is another top Utah ski destination in winter, and outdoor adventure playground in summer, and can be easily accessed via public transport from Park City (some resorts here are just a five-minute drive from downtown Park City), so we’ve included resorts in both destinations. Whether you are looking to book a family vacation or a luxe romantic retreat, choose the best place to stay and play with our list of the top resorts in Park City.

Another top resort in Deer Valley is the Montage. This luxury property is decorated in swank American craftsmen style inspired by the great mountain lodges of the West. Located next to the lifts at Deer Valley Resort, it offers ski-in, ski-out access in winter and is still accessible to Park City’s famed Main Street, which is just a five-minute drive away. The Montage is also very dog-friendly, and you’ll see a lot of four-legged guests staying here.

Rooms and suites are spacious and beautifully decorated. They feature private balconies, gas fireplaces, and commissioned art on the walls. There are also family room options available.

Amenities at The Montage are plentiful. You’ll find a number of restaurants, including the well-known Apex, which has indoor and mountain-facing terrace dining, as well as a coffee shop on-site. There is a luxe spa for a pampering, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and even a bowling alley on the grounds.

The resort is a year-round destination, and in summer, guests can pass the day hiking, biking, golfing, or fly fishing, which can all be set up through the hotel.
