Ukraine Visa For Schengen Visa Holders
Are you a Schengen Visa holder? If so, you may be wondering whether or not you need to apply for a Ukrainian visa.
The answer is: no.
If you have a Schengen Visa, you are entitled to travel to Ukraine without applying for a separate Ukrainian visa. You may enter Ukraine and stay there for 90 days within any 180-day period.
This means that if you plan on staying in Ukraine longer than 90 days, you will need to apply for a residence permit. If your stay in Ukraine is shorter than 90 days, however, you do not need to apply for anything else other than your Schengen Visa.
A Schengen visa is a visa that allows you to travel freely between the 26 countries that are part of the Schengen Area. These countries include Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands Norway Poland Portugal Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden and Switzerland.
In order to get a Schengen visa from Ukraine you must be a citizen of one of these 26 countries listed above. You also need to have a valid passport that has at least 3 months validity left on it when you apply for the visa.
If you already have a valid Schengen visa in your passport then you can use that same passport when applying for an extension no matter which country issued the original visa. If your valid Schengen visa has expired then you will need to apply for another one before applying for an extension.
If all goes well with your application for an extension then you will receive your new visa within 7 days of submitting all documents necessary for processing.
If you’re a citizen of Ukraine, you can visit the Schengen Area without a visa. But if you want to stay longer than 90 days, you’ll need to make sure that your passport is valid for at least another four months after your intended date of departure from the Schengen Area.

ETIAS REQUIREMENTS FOR UKRAINIAN CITIZENS
Ukrainian citizens travelling to Europe after November 2023 can apply for the Europe travel visa waiver, ETIAS, in order to enter the Schengen Area. ETIAS will also be required to visit Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyrpus and Romania which are EU countries in the process of joining the Schengen Area.
ETIAS is being implemented to improve and strengthen the security of the Schengen Area. Applicants’ information will be screened using several security databases such as eu-LISA, Schengen Information System (SIS), INTERPOL, EURODAC, EUROPOL, and Visa Information System (VIS).
These security checks are designed to improve the safety of both European locals and visitors to the region. Anyone who poses a potential security threat will be identified and prevented from entering the Schengen Area.
ETIAS is not a visa, it is a visa waiver similar to other systems, such as the ESTA in the United States. Ukrainians will be able to obtain an ETIAS with an easy online application. However, before applying, it’s important to check the ETIAS visa waiver requirements for Ukraine.
To apply for ETIAS, Ukrainians will require a valid biometric passport. They will also need a valid credit or debit card to pay for the visa waiver application fee.

HOW TO APPLY ONLINE FOR ETIAS FROM UKRAINE

TRAVEL TO EUROPE FROM UKRAINE

The Ukraine visa waiver is valid for a total of 3 consecutive years and is a multiple-entry travel authorisation. As long as they do not exceed 90 days during each stay, Ukraine ETIAS holders can visit multiple European countries while the ETIAS is valid. However, if either the visa waiver or the traveller’s passport expires, the applicant must obtain a new ETIAS before re-entering Europe.
