The e-Visa application is valid for three months from the date of issue. It is valid for single entry into Uganda, but multiple entry visas are available at the airport upon arrival in Uganda.

WHAT ARE THE PROCESSING TIMES AND PRICES?

For the cost of your eVisa you will have three alternatives depending on the processing time you need:

  • Standard processing time – your application is processed within 6 Business Days, and the price is USD 93.50 (service fees included).
  • Rush processing time –your visa will be ready within 4 Business Days, and you need to spend USD 126.50 (service fees included).
  • Super Rush processing time – this is the quickest option you have. It costs you USD 155.25 (service fees included), and your visa application is processed within just 3 Business Days.

HOW DOES THE UGANDA TOURIST EVISA WORK?

In June 2016, The Republic of Uganda launched the eVisa program. It must be obtained before entering the country. All travelers intending to come to Uganda for holiday, tourism, business, study, family visits or medical purposes are required to apply for one and have a visa before they enter.

Travelers who use the eVisa program apply and pay a fee online and receive their electronic visa online before traveling to Uganda. Applicants will receive their visas via email, after filling out the application form with the necessary information, and once the payment is complete.

HOW CAN I APPLY FOR A UGANDA TOURIST EVISA?

The application process has only three easy steps:

  1. In the first step, you need to fill in your general information and choose the processing time from the options mentioned.
  2. In the second step, you will need to revise step one and make the payment.
  3. As for the last step, you need to answer a questionnaire and upload your photo. Other documents may be required as well, but it depends on individual circumstances.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I HAVE APPLIED?

After submitting the application form, you will receive the Uganda Tourist eVisa by email in PDF. No need to deal with the embassy.

Visa requirements for Indian nationals are currently the same as those for UK nationals. This means that Indian nationals can apply for a visa at the Ugandan High Commission in London. Indian passport holders who need a transit visa should also apply at this office, as they will not be able to obtain one at any other location in Uganda.

There is no need to make an appointment when applying for a visa at this embassy, but applicants should bring with them two copies of their application form and supporting documentation, such as proof of medical insurance and return flights (if applicable). Additionally, those who are applying for work or student visas should bring along proof of employment or enrollment respectively. Those who have traveled to a country affected by yellow fever should also bring documentation from a doctor confirming their vaccination status.

All applications are processed within 48 hours of receipt by the consulate general’s office. The cost of an ordinary tourist visa is £100 (US$135) plus £15 per day overstay penalty (if applicable). Student/work visas cost £110 (US$145) plus £15 per day overstay penalty (if applicable). Transit visas cost £30 (US).
