UAE Tourist Visa for Minor

The UAE tourist visa for minor is for minors who are between the ages of 16 and 18. The tourist visa does not allow you to stay in the country for more than 6 months, and the term ends at the age of 21. The holder can only re-enter after 2 years. The  UAE visa tourist law allows minors to stay in the UAE for more than 6 months. Prior to that law, a minor was required to travel with their father who is over 18 years old, and thus he needed a tourist visa and not a transit visa like an adult. But the UAE has introduced some new rules which made it easier for minors to visit this country.

The United Arab Emirates tourist visa is granted to minors as young as 13 years old.

The UAE is a very forward-thinking country in terms of tourism, especially for minors. Their policy has been to grant visas to minors at a young age, and their proof of age requirements are minimal.

Requirements for a minor’s tourist visa include:

-A copy of the minor’s birth certificate (passport or national ID card) that shows the child’s full name and date of birth.

-A letter from the parents confirming their relationship with the child and stating that they have full parental rights over them.

The UAE has a visa policy for minors, which is different from that of adults.

If you are traveling with a minor child, you will need to apply for a tourist visa. The maximum duration of stay in the country is 90 days per visit, but can be extended beyond this limit if you are planning on visiting multiple countries within the same 90-day period.

The process for applying for a tourist visa for minors is very simple.

First, make sure that your child has all of their required documentation before heading to the UAE Embassy or Consulate. This includes:

1) A birth certificate/proof of age

2) A passport with at least 6 months left on it (and preferably at least 1 year)

3) Proof of travel arrangements (flight tickets, hotel reservation number and confirmation code)

4) Proof of medical insurance coverage (if applicable)

Dubai VISA for Minors

Dubai always plans surprises for its visitors and one such is an amendment made to the transit visa rules from June to September, kids aged 18 years and below will now be able to travel to Dubai, as UAEoffers free visa to minors.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are qualified from any one of the below criteria for UAE visa application.

Criteria 1: Travel Record

Applicants have traveled to Dubai even once in the last 5 years or have a valid visa for countries like USA, UK, Schengen countries, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Switzerland, and Japan, the supporting documents required for applicants qualifying under this travel record criteria are as follows:

  • Visa application form duly filled and signed along with applicants colored photograph
  • For verification, original passport with validity for 6 months from the date of travel + colored photocopy (of all pages)
  • Onward and return confirmed ticket of flight tickets in original + Photocopy
  • Invitation letter from the host company in Dubai 
  • For female applicants and students who are above 18 years and traveling alone require NOC from parents/husband, Photo ID of parents/ husband. Colored copy of the host passport/residence visa
  • Visa fees can be paid by CASH / DD / CREDIT CARD

Criteria 2: Financial Records

Applicants who don’t qualify as per Criteria 1 are required to submit either the last 2 Years Form 16 or last 2 Years Income Tax return with a minimum gross income from a business, profession, or employment, which should exceed INR 2 lakhs Per annum.

Or

Investments amounting to INR 5 Lakhs or above, in the form of fixed deposits in Banks or Post Office.

 Or

Investments should be made a year before the date of VISA application with a validity of more than 12 months and investments in co-operative banks or societies are not acceptable.

The supporting documents required by applicants qualifying under Economical status criteria:

  • Original + Photocopy of Income Tax returns, Salary slips of the last 6 months, Photocopy of Pan Card OR Original + Photocopy of Fixed Deposit Receipt
  • Visa application form duly filled and signed along with applicants colored photograph
  • Original passport for verification with validity for 6 months from the date of travel + colored photocopy (of all pages)
  • Onward and return confirmed ticket of flights in original + Photocopy
  • Invitation letter from the host company in Dubai
  • For female applicants and students who are above 18 years and traveling alone require NOC from parents/husband, Photo ID of parents/ husband. Copy of the host passport/residence visa
  • Visa fees can be paid by CASH / DD / CREDIT CARD

Criteria 3: Invitation from immediate family member residing in UAE on family status

Spouse and children below 21 years of age or senior citizens above 60 years of age can be invited.

The supporting documents required are:

  • Invitation letter from the host in Dubai, passport copy and valid residence visa copy of the host in Dubai 
  • Visa application form duly filled and signed along with applicants colored photograph
  • Original passport for verification with validity for 6 months from the date of travel + colored photocopy (all pages)
  • Onward and return confirmed ticket of flights an original copy + Photocopy
  • Invitation Letter from the host company in Dubai
  • For female applicants and students who are above 18 years and traveling alone require NOC from parents/husband, Photo ID of parents/ husband. Colored copy of the host passport/residence visa
  • Visa fees can be paid by CASH / DD / CREDIT CARD

Important Information:

  • Selection/Determination of a visa category are based on airline ticket itinerary

UAE visa applications for diplomatic Passport holders:

  • As per the directive of Dubai Immigrations, Dubai visa applications for Diplomatic Passport holders will no longer be accepted at DVPC with immediate effect i.e. from 05 September 2013. Diplomatic passport holders can only apply through the UAE embassy.

The UAE tourist visa for Indian travelers is charged as follows:

  • AED 120 or INR 2,500 for a 14-day tourist visa (available on arrival)
  • AED 250 or INR 5,200 for an extension of more than 14 days
  • Conclusion
  • If the child is below eighteen years of age and accompanied by both parents then it is not necessary for them to apply for a separate visa to visit UAE. However, parents will have to carry with them along with their passports one of the parent’s identification card and a photo of the child. Any other person coming under the status of friends, relatives or servants will have to apply for an entry visa before entering UAE. The holder of an entry visa must leave the country within two weeks from the date of issue of their visas or within 14 days from their last entry into the UAE.Also note that minor UAE tourist visa is not applicable to nationals of certain countries and one should therefore check with their nearest UAE consulate to ensure they are eligible.
