Thailand Work Permit For Myanmar

Planning to work in Thailand?  This Thai visa guide is for Myanmar natives/citizens who wish to apply for a Thai work permit. You do not have to go through the standard tourist visa process. This visa permit will allow you to work in Thailand while remaining a Myanmar national. It is the first step toward getting permanent residence and a passport from the Kingdom of Thailand.

The Work Permit for Thailand for Myanmar nationals is issued on a case by case basis. However, in general, if you have received a work permit for Singapore or Malaysia, the approval rate for getting a Thai work permit is high. This is because the requirements are similar.

Thailand Visa For Myanmar Citizen

Citizens of Myanmar are permitted to stay for up to 14 days under the Bilateral Agreement with Thailand if entering via international airports only.

How To Apply For A Visa To Thailand

All applicants must follow the application process to qualify for a visa to Thailand. The application process requires submission of completed form and necessary documents. While submitting the application, all applicants are required to pay the non-refundable visa fee for the application to be processed. Based on the application, eligibility factors, and applicant’s requirements, a visa can be approved or rejected on various grounds. Though the application form, eligibility criteria, and requirements differ or each visa category, the following requirements are common for most types of visa application:

• Application form – Applicants are required to complete the application form as per the guidelines and regulations specified by MFA.
• Photograph – The applicant’s passport sized photograph (4×6 cm) must be attached to the application form
• Passport – Original passport with at least 6 months of validity (from the date of travel) and at least 2 blank pages (required for visa stamping during entry and exit). In certain situation, individuals without a passport are allowed to submit any other valid travel document recognised by the MFA.
• Proof of sufficient funds – Applications for specific types of visa needs to be supported with a proof of sufficient funds. The proof will indicate the financial capability of the applicant to bear the cost of entire travel plan.
• Proof of stay – The proof of stay is one of the necessary documents for various types of visa applications.
• Bank statement – Applicants may also need to submit the bank statement of past 6 months
• Tickets – Providing a copy of the confirmed return ticket is also a common part of the application form, however, certain visa categories may only need the intended date of travel.
• Other documents – Based on the specific category of the visa, applicants are required to provide various types of mandatory documents including letters, approvals, reference, etc.

Documents Require for Thailand Business Visa:

Additional Documents if business travel or visits to cultural/sports/religious events or organizations

1. Personal Covering Letter mentioning name, passport number, purpose of visit, date of travel and other important information.
2. Letter from the organization owned by or employing the Applicant stating the relationship of the applicant to the organization, no objection by the current employer of the leave take, date of leave the applicant took and other relevant information.
3. The organizations registration paper excluding the governmental ones.
4. Invitation letter from Thai company mentioning the name of the company, name and passport number of the invited applicant, the purpose of invitation, date of the business meeting and other relevant information.
5. Original ID, Passport Copy of the Invitee.
6. Thai Company’s registration paper.
7. Copy of Thai’s Company’s financial balance in recent year.
8. Two copies of Applicant’s CNIC Card.
9. Two copies of Applicant’s Passport with the page on which the information of a passport holder can be found.
10. Confirmed Ticket.
11. Documents stating the accommodation.
12. Applicant’s Bank statement of one year along with account maintenance certificate.
13. From the documents it should be evident enough that the Applicant is trustworthy and credible enough to be granted the visa.
14. Any other relevant documents which are required.

In case the applicant is applying for the Business Visa for the purpose of working in a Thai company as an Employee:

1. Personal Covering Letter mentioning the name, passport number, purpose of visit, date of travel or other relevant information.
2. Letter from organization employing the Applicant, mentioning the relationship between the Applicant and the Organization and other relevant information.
3. The organizations registration paper excluding the governmental organizations.
4. Invitation letter from the Thai Company stating the name of it, name and passport number of the Applicant and other relevant information.
5. Original ID/ Passport Copy of the Invitee.
6. Thai Company’s Registration Paper
7. Consent from the Department of Employment from the Thailand allowing to apply the Applicant.
8. Thai Company’s Financial Balance in a Recent Year.
9. Tax Income of Thai Company for the Past Year.
10. List of Foreign Employees working in Thai Company, mentioning their name, nationality and designation.
11. A copy of a work contract between Thai Company and the Applicant.
12. Location of the Thai Company.
13. Two Copies of the Applicant’s CNIC Card.

Non Immigrant Visa Thailand

Non-Immigrant B Visa 
(Conducting business, conference and employment)

Non – Immigrant Visa “B” is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for the purpose of conducting business, conference or employment.

Types of Non-Immigrant Visa 

1. Single-Entry: valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The period of stay is up to 90 days.

2. Multiple-Entry (only available for conducting business): valid for entering Thailand multiple times within 1 year from the date of application. The period of stay is up to 90 days for each visit.

Required Documents

– Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
– Visa application form completely filled out and signed
– Recent 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm photograph of the applicant
– Financial statement, including Bank statement or book bank 
– Business related documents as follows: 

Conducting business (mutiple entries)

Employment in Thailand
– A letter from the employer in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, indicating details of employment, including position, salary and length of contract. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
– A work permit or an approval letter from the Department of Employment regarding the “WP3” form submitted on behalf of the applicant by the employer (Japanese nationals are exempted in accordance with JTEPA),
– Evidence of the applicant’s professional qualifications and work experience
– A work permit of the applicant’s previous employment or its certified copy (compulsory for an applicant who had worked in Thailand)
– Copy of corporate documents e.g. 1) List of shareholders 2) Business registration and business license 3) Details of business operations 4) List of foreign employees, nationalities and positions 5) Address of the company 6) Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) of the latest year 7) Alien income tax return (Por Ngor Dor 91) and 8) Value-added tax registration (Por Por 20). These documents must be signed by an authorized person and stamped with a company’s seal. A copy of Thai ID of the authorized person must also be submitted.

Teaching in Thailand

– A letter from the institution/school signed by an authorized person and stamped with the institution/school’s seal, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
– A letter of approval from the relevant government agency, e.g. the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission
– A letter of acceptance from the institution/school or a signed employment contract
– A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence (issued within three months prior to the date of visa application and should be notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission) 
– Evidence of professional qualifications and work experience
– A copy of institution/school license or registration (private school/institution)
– A copy of institution/school appointment of its director (private school/institution)

Professional sport player
– Approval by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand is required prior to submitting a visa application.
– Evidence of previous overseas employment in English and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country of residence or relevant authorities

Training or internship
– A letter from the sponsoring company/organization in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, indicating details of training or internship, including duration, scope of training/internship and payment (if any). And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
– Copy of corporate documents (See above)
– If the training or internship is part of an academic curriculum, a letter from the applicant’s university/academic institution confirming the requirement and requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. In this case, the applicant will be issued with Non-Immigrant “ED” visa.

Conducting business or attending a conference
Documents from Thai side

Extension of Stay

The extension of stay as well as the change of certain types of visas is solely at the discretion of the immigration officer.
