Seattle is a city of transplants. It’s constantly getting new residents, but it’s also losing them too. That’s why it can be so hard to find the best places to visit in Seattle. But with all this competition (and turnover), we’ve found some great spots that are worth checking out if you’re thinking about moving here or just visiting for a weekend getaway.

Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market is a public market covering an entire city block in Seattle’s downtown. It is the oldest continuously operated farmers’ market in the United States, and is home to over 250 year-round businesses—everything from fresh produce, meat and seafood stalls, artisanal crafts and gifts, to flowers, plants and great restaurants.

You can see all of this for yourself at Pike Place Market: just follow your nose as you wander down its winding paths past every kind of smell imaginable! Or head straight for Pike Place Fish Market (famous for their flying fish), or the original Starbucks store where they used to sell coffee beans from around the world. You’ll also find plenty of street performers here who will make sure your trip will be memorable!

Space Needle

The Space Needle is an observation tower that stands 605 feet tall. It was built for the 1962 World’s Fair and has since become one of the most iconic landmarks in Seattle. Located in downtown Seattle, you can get a 360-degree view from the top of this tower. The Space Needle will set you back about $25 for adults, but it’s worth it for the incredible views!

Seattle Aquarium

If you’re looking for an afternoon of animal-watching, the Seattle Aquarium is a great place to spend the day. With its beautifully designed exhibits, this attraction has something for everyone.

Located on Pier 59, the Seattle Aquarium is open daily from 10am until 6pm (except Thanksgiving and Christmas). Adult admission costs $21 while children 3-12 pay $16—that’s not too bad considering how much fun you’ll have! You can also opt to purchase a combo ticket that includes Argosy Cruises’ Queen City Discovery Cruise and Pacific Science Center admission; this will cost about $40 per adult and includes all taxes.

Once inside the aquarium itself, there are so many things to see: sharks swimming overhead in their tank; jellyfish floating just below eye level; penguins paddling around in their enclosure next door…the list goes on! One thing’s certain: there’s no way any visitor will be bored here! If anything ever gets dull (which it won’t), just look up at one of those fancy LED panels along each wall where images will flash by at lightning speed—it’ll make your head spin but keep your attention nonetheless 🙂

Fremont Troll

The Fremont Troll is a statue in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. This statue was built under the Aurora Bridge, which is a bridge that crosses over Interstate 5 and connects Downtown Seattle to North Seattle. The troll is made from concrete, rebar and wire. It weighs 6,000 pounds and stands 15 feet tall!

Museum of Pop Culture

The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) is a popular stop for visitors to Seattle. The museum spans several floors and has over 100 galleries that display pop culture relics from different eras and cultures, including music, interactive technology, comic books and art.

The museum also hosts film screenings, concerts and educational programs for children. A number of films have been shot at MoPOP as well, including “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (2015).

The Seattle Great Wheel

The Seattle Great Wheel is a 150-foot tall Ferris wheel, located at the base of the Seattle Space Needle. It’s the largest Ferris wheel in the Pacific Northwest and one of the five largest in North America. The Seattle Great Wheel has 28 gondolas that can hold six to eight people each and takes about 20 minutes to make one revolution.

The Seattle Great Wheel offers views of Puget Sound, downtown Seattle, Mount Rainier and other landmarks such as Space Needle, Elliott Bay and Mount Baker – depending on which direction you choose to face during your ride atop this giant rotating landmark!

Olympic Sculpture Park

The Olympic Sculpture Park is a sculpture garden located in Seattle. It is a great place to visit on your vacation, as it is free and open to the public.

The park was designed by famed rock band REM’s guitarist Peter Buck and his wife Wendy Buck (a former curator at the Experience Music Project). It was built on top of an old industrial site that had been left abandoned for decades. The park consists of three main areas: an indoor gallery featuring rotating exhibitions; an outdoor area with permanent sculptures; and a terrace overlooking Puget Sound with views of Seattle skyline.

Alki Beach Park

The Gum Wall in Post Alley

While you’re in the area, it’s worth taking a break to check out the Gum Wall, a wall of gum located in Post Alley. This popular tourist attraction has been around for years and serves as an interesting piece of Seattle culture.

Located in downtown Seattle and part of Pike Place Market, the Gum Wall is just a short walk from where you’ll be staying at your hotel or Airbnb. It can be found on F street between 1st and 2nd Avenue.

As tourists make their way through this historic market district, they often stop by for photos or just to take it all in with their eyes before moving on to other parts of town that might not have any gum walls (or at least none that I know about).

Discovery Park

Discovery Park is a public park located on Puget Sound in Seattle, Washington, USA. It is the largest park in Seattle, with over 300 acres of land. The park is located in the Magnolia neighborhood, west of Ballard.

The land for Discovery Park was donated to the city by Dr. T.T. Minor and his wife Carrie Clark Minor.[3] The couple wished to donate their property while they were alive so that they could enjoy it during their lifetime.[4] They selected the location because it reminded them of Mt Vernon Manor near Alexandria Bay on the St Lawrence River where her father had owned a summer cottage.[5]

Green Lake Park

Green Lake Park is a popular place for runners and walkers, as well as swimmers. The lake is very clean, so swimming in it is safe. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, and there are also places where you can rent boats and other watercrafts.

In addition to being an excellent place for recreation, Green Lake is also one of Seattle’s most beautiful parks. It features numerous walking paths that encircle the lake as well as countless trees, flowers, and wildlife.
