1. Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria Island in Florida is one of the best quiet places in Florida. It is located a few miles south and west of St. Petersburg, but not far from Dunedin. You will find this place as a relaxed and idyllic slice of Florida.

You will also witness the greatness of the Marriott Autograph Collection property located a couple of blocks away from the Waterline Marina Resort and Beach Club. However, you may find most of the places on the island as the lower-key in nature.

2. South Walton

South Walton in the Florida Panhandle is another quiet place in Florida that you may want to visit. You can explore the place on a day trip or stay overnight. You will have boat service from various locations as well. So, it is easy to take a Tropic Star ferry from the small town of Pine Island (Bokeelia).

The park is remote and wild, so you won’t find any snack bars or diversions. There you find only the beach, nature, and you. Camp simply, if you want. Just rent a tiny cabin with no electricity and running water. The evenings you spend there seem magical.

If you love kayaking, consider paddling to Cayo Costa. However, since it is a long way over open water, I recommend it for those staying overnight there.

4. Perdido Key

Perdido Key is another quiet place in Florida that you may want to visit. It is located in the extreme northwest of the state on a thin strip of land. Perdido Key and Perdido key state park offer white-sand dunes and breathtaking views of the Gulf waters.

The state park is open from 8 a.m till evening. In addition to eight covered pavilions, it also includes two parking areas. The place proves a perfect site to bring your family for a picnic lunch. While relaxing, enjoy the breezes off the Gulf of Mexico.

Moreover, visit Big Lagoon park situated across the bridge. Relax there, or plan a hike or camping venture.

5. Apalachicola

Apalachicola is a warm, welcoming town that bursts with hometown charm. There you will find friendly folks and rich maritime history. 6. Homosassa Springs

In the early 1900s, the Homosassa Springs was a famous train stop where passengers used to picnic and take a dip in the springs. During a visit in 1924, Bruce Hoovers called Homosassa Springs “the most breathtaking river and springs in the world.” Since then, the place hasn’t changed much.

It is also the largest springs group, comprising nearly thirty springs. The only residents of the town are a group of wild monkeys. There you will also find an excellent tiki bar known as Crumps Landing, with a restaurant, marina, and a playground.

You may also want to nip into the Museum Café to get a bite to eat and explore the owner’s collection of old printing presses, typewriters, and other items. The place is about seventy-five minutes north of Tampa. It means you can easily make a day trip out of it if you’re in the Tamp or Dunedin area.

7. Lovers Key State Park
