Issuance of Tourist Visa

Foreign nationals wishing to visit Peru and require a visa, according to their country of origin, may apply for a Tourist visa if they have recreational or similar purposes. This migratory status does not admit the purpose of immigration, permanent residence or development of remunerated activities.

Requirements

  1. Passport with a minimum validity of six months after expected date of arrival to Peru.
  2. Photocopy of the front and back sides of passport.
  3. Two (DGC 005) forms duly typed or handwritten, in block letters and using black ink.
  4. Three recent coloured, passport-size photographs (4.3 X 3.5 cm) with white background. The face size should cover between 70% – 80% of the photograph.
  5. Cover letter duly signed by the applicant.
  6. If employed, the applicant must present a non-objection certificate furnished by the employer, indicating the date they joined the organization, as well as the purpose and the time of their stay in Peru.
  7. Round-trip ticket reservation to Peru.
  8. Day by day detailed itinerary while in Peru.
  9. Hotel reservation(s) in Peru.
  10. Proof of financial solvency, e.g. bank statements, fixed deposits. These are required even if the trip is sponsored.
  11. Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) of Form 16 (1 year), if applicable.
  12. In case of sponsored trips:
    • Sponsor in Peru or India should present a guarantee letter attesting that he or she will be responsible to bear some or all costs of boarding and lodging of the applicant, or repatriation, if needed.
    • Valid identification document of the sponsor, e.g. Peruvian DNI, Aadhar card, Passport or any other valid national identification document.
    • Proof of financial solvency of the sponsor, e.g. bank statements, fixed deposit.

Observations

  • The submission of the visa application and supporting documents does not guarantee automatic issuance of a visa. Each application is assessed individually by the Peruvian Consul.
  • Visa applications can ONLY be submitted and processed at the Embassy of Peru in New Delhi.
  • Documents sent through email or courrier will not be processed.
  • If an application is presented by an agent, it will only be processed once the original file is submitted to the Embassy, not from the date of submission to the agency.
  • In addition to the abovementioned documents, nationals of Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka are required to furnish a police clearance certificate.
  • Time of tourist and business visa processing for Indian nationals inormally ranges within 4-5 working days. Non-Indian nationals’ applications may take around 10 working days to be processed.
  • Once an application is submitted, the Consular Section of the Embassy of Peru reserves its right to require an interview and additional documents.
  • Peru does not require travellers to hold a valid yellow fever certificate.
  • Other visa categories which fall under the competency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs require additional clearance from headquarters in Lima, Peru.
  • Visas issued by the Peruvian government are valid for six (06) months, counted from the date they were issued. Once this term expires, if a visa has not been used by its holder, it automatically expires.
  • Upon the first entry of the visa holder to Peru, visas will have the same validity as the period of permanence shown in the endorsement.

4. Covering Letter : Covering-Letter from applicant on business letter head mentioning name, designation,passport number, purpose and duration of visit in brief. The letter should be duly signed by authorized signatory with company stamp and addressed to – “The Visa Officer, Embassy of the Republic of Peru,New Delhi”.
   Please Note : Covering-Letter on Letterhead if applicant is Self Employed or on plain paper if Employed .
   Applicant’s personal email id should be mentioned on the covering letter.
5. Sponsored Visit
   a) Invitation Letter from the the invitee.
   b) A written affidavit in which he/she states that he/she shall be responsible to bear all costs of boarding and lodging of the applicant or repatriation in case of traveller has acquired illegal status or does not have sufficient funds to return.
6. Financials:
   a) Attested copy of ITR papers for last 3 years
   b) Original Bank Statement for last six months with Bank Seal and sign.

8. Identity Proof: Applicant must submit a copy of his/ her Adhaar card.
9. Proof of Accommodation : Hotel confirmation from Peru along with day to day itinerary
10. Ticket: Confirm return air ticket.
11. Medical: It is advisable for applicants to carry an Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) at the time of travel.
12. Please Note : Applicant’s holding a valid multiple entry visa in his old passport can travel with the same provided he needs to carry the new passport along with the old passport at the time of travel.
13. Important Note: Indian Nationals are exempted from Tourist visas provided they fulfil the following
   a) Being holders of valid visa of USA, UK, Canada, Australia or Schengen space countries, with a validity of at least 6 months. (excluded transit visas).
   b) Permanent resident, accredited with the document of permit(i.e. green card) in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia or Schengen space countries.
   c) The duration of stay for tourist/business travellers will be up to 180 days as maximum, whether continuous stay or various visits during the period of one year. (The stay will be determined in the port of entry by the Immigration Officers).

6. Recommendation letter through recognized Indian Chamber of Commerce (FIEO, FICCI, APEDA, ASSOCHAM, PHD etc.) stating that company is registered with them.
7. Financials:
