Personalize your etsy shop vacation with open orders

Summer vacations are the most awaited time of the year for every student in their life. Summer vacations bring a lot of chances to get involved in many things that we have been hoping to do.

Summer vacation is a time for relaxation and fun, but it can also be a time for reflection.

We all know how important it is to spend time with loved ones, get outside, and enjoy the sun. But sometimes we forget to take a look at ourselves and think about what we want our summer vacations to look like.

How to Turn On Vacation Mode

With Vacation Mode, you can take a break from managing your Etsy shop without worrying. To turn on Vacation Mode:

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com.
  2. Click Shop Manager.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Options.
  5. Click the Vacation Mode tab.
  6. Change the setting to On.
  7. Fill in a temporary shop announcement and Message auto-reply.
  8. Click Save.

Vacation Mode lets you put your shop on hold for a period of time, and is helpful if:

  • You’re temporarily unable to run your shop.
  • An emergency keeps you from being able to manage your shop.
  • You’re traveling or sick.
  • You need a quick break to catch up on current orders.

You can set an auto-reply that will be sent in response to any messages you receive while on vacation.

While your shop is on Vacation Mode

Your shop

  • A notice will appear at the top of your shop page saying that you’re taking a short break. The Add to cart button will be grayed out.
  • Your shop will still appear if someone searches for your exact shop name, but will not appear as an auto-suggestion in Search or other shopping tools.
  • Your items won’t appear in Search.
  • Other Etsy members who visit your shop can sign up to be notified by email of your return.
  • You’ll have access to your orders, cases, and Messages.
  • You can issue refunds, cancel orders, and print Etsy shipping labels.

When your shop is in Vacation Mode, you still need to uphold your commitments as a seller to your buyers. Fulfilling sold orders or participating in any open cases will still be required.

Your listings

  • You can make edits to current listings the same as you would when your shop is not on vacation.
  • You can list new items and save them as drafts. You won’t be charged a listing fee until the listing is actually published once you return from vacation.
  • If you have auto-renew turned on for listings in your shop, these listings set to auto-renew will continue to be charged a renewal fee when they expire.

Etsy Plus

  • If you have an Etsy Plus subscription, Vacation Mode does not impact your Etsy Plus billing. Your subscription fees will continue.

Star Seller

  • We determine Star Seller eligibility by reviewing the last 3 months of your shop’s performance on Etsy, regardless of vacation mode. If you come back from vacation and you reach the Star Seller criteria for the current review period, then you’ll be eligible for a Star Seller badge.

Vacation Mode for Pattern sites

  • If you put your Etsy shop in Vacation Mode, we’ll also display a Vacation Mode overlay on your Pattern site.
  • The overlay will show your vacation message, and cannot be closed by a buyer.
  • Buyers will also see a Contact Seller option in the overlay, where they can send a message to you.
  • Vacation Mode does not impact your Pattern site billing. Your subscription fees will continue.
