Nyu summer break is here!

We’re so excited to have you all back for the next academic year, and we hope you’re ready to hit the ground running. If you’re not sure how to prepare for your upcoming classes, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Here are our top three tips for getting ready:

1) Schedule a meeting with a professor before the semester starts. This will give them time to get to know you and your interests, and it’ll give you a chance to find out if they have any special requirements like outside reading or attendance at office hours. Plus, it’ll ensure that everyone is on the same page right off the bat!

2) Make sure you have all of your textbooks before classes start. If they aren’t available yet, check with your professor or the bookstore so that they can let you know when they’ll be in stock. It’s especially important if there’s an online component to a class or lab work that requires specific materials (like safety goggles or lab coats). You don’t want any surprises like this popping up during finals week!

• Summer 2022 Registration begins February 7 2022.
• Students completing their graduation requirements by the end of Summer 2022 must Apply for Summer 2022 Graduation via Albert between March 1 2022 and June 12 2022.
• NYU Summer 2022 classes begin on May 23 2022. 12-Week, First 3-Week, First 6-Week, 7-Week, and Special Session all begin.
• Summer 2022 Add/Drop Deadline for First 3-Week Session is May 24 2022
• Summer 2022 100% Refund Deadline for First 3-Week Session is May 24 2022.
• Summer 2022 Withdrawal Period begins for First 3-Week Session on May 25 2022.
• May 26 2022 is Summer 2022 Add/Drop Deadline for 12-Week, First 6-Week, 7-Week, and Special Session.

• August 17 2022 is the last day of NYU summer 2022 Classes. It is the Last Day of Summer 2022 Classes for 12-Week, Second 6-Week, Fourth 3-Week, and Special Session.

NYU academic calendar spring 2023

The following are important dates on the NYU academic calendar for Spring 2023.

• Spring 2023 Class Schedule is Published on October 17, 2022.
• Spring 2023 Registration begins on November 14, 2022. Undergraduate and graduate students register at specific appointment times.
• January 5, 2023 is Spring 2023 Undergraduate Tuition Payment deadline. Failure to meet the payment deadline may result in the cancellation of class reservations.
• January 16, 2023 is Spring 2023 Graduate Tuition Payment deadline. Failure to meet the payment deadline may result in the cancellation of class reservations on the NYU academic calendar.
• NYU Spring 2023 classes begin on January 23, 2023.
• Late registration begins on February 1, 2023. Students who initially register on or after this date will be charged a late registration fee of $50 for undergraduate students or $25 for graduate students.
• February 5, 2023 is the Spring 2023 100% refund deadline.
• Spring 2023 Add/Drop deadline is February 5, 2023.
• Spring 2023 Withdrawal Period begins on February 6, 2023.
• Spring 2023 Census Date is February 12, 2023.
• February 20, 2023 is Presidents’ Day holiday. In New York, no classes are scheduled and University offices are closed.
• NYU Spring break 2023 starts from March 13, 2023 to March 19, 2023.
• May 2 2023 is the last day for students in a school that permits the pass/fail grade option to submit a request.
• Spring 2023 Withdrawal deadline is May 2, 2023. It is the last day for students to submit a request to withdraw from a class (or from all classes enrolled for the term).
• May 8, 2023 is the last day of Spring 2023 classes.
• May 9 2023 is Reading Day.
• Spring 2022 Final Exam period is May 10, 2023 – May 16, 2023. NYU Schools of Medicine, Law, Dentistry and Graduate Stern manage different final exam schedules. Refer to NYU school-specific calendars for these details.
• Commencement is on May 17, 2023.
