New Zealand Need Visa For Canada

With the sharp rise in demand in vacationing and traveling to Canada, the Canadian government has tightened its requirements for issuing visa to New Zealanders.

New Zealanders who want to gain residence in Canada will have to apply for Visas, as of now. New regulations — that came into force on November 10th, 2014 — formally discontinue the long-standing practice of “visa-exempt entry” for New Zealand citizens. The new regulations won’t effect any New Zealanders who are now living in Canada nor those that arrive before December 10th, 2014 (the date the rules took effect).

As part of the changes in Canada’s visa rules, effective December 31, 2018, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will no longer issue long-term visas to residents of New Zealand who wish to visit Canada. Visa-exempt foreign nationals can only stay in Canada for a maximum of six months without a Temporary Resident Permit.
