Splendid Weather
The weather in Puerto Vallarta is lovely during the winter months, with high temperatures typically in the 70s and 80s and low temperatures in the 50s and 60s. February is the perfect time of the year to visit, especially if you live in a climate that has cold winter weather that you may want to escape. Rather than dealing with freezing temperatures, snow, ice or other cold weather issues, you could be basking in the gloriously warm, sunny weather in Puerto Vallarta.
A Safe Environment
It seems as though Mexico might never completely shake its reputation as a “dangerous” place, due to the occasional violent behavior of competing drug cartels which usually takes place in towns that border the United States. Fortunately, Puerto Vallarta is located extremely far away from any borders and is a perfectly safe place to visit. Since it is such a hotspot for travelers who visit from around the world, the safety of its visitors is a top priority. And even though it is already very safe, there is a large presence of various police groups who are constantly on patrol to keep the streets free of crime and welcoming for everyone around.
Gorgeous Beaches
If your idea of paradise is warm, sunny weather and palm tree-dotted beaches that overlook the idyllic waves of the sea, there is no better destination for your next vacation than Puerto Vallarta. There are countless stretches of pristine coastline all along the waters of Banderas Bay, so feel free to get out there and explore all of the natural beauty Puerto Vallarta’s beaches has to offer.
Plentiful Outdoor Adventure
Since the weather in Puerto Vallarta is so inviting even in the winter months, thrilling outdoor activities are available year-round. You might find yourself channeling your inner Tarzan with a ziplining adventure that takes you soaring high above the jungle canopy; exploring the immense natural surroundings while trekking through the jungle on an ATV tour; or riding on horseback as the sun dips down past the horizon over Banderas Bay. Since access to the water is so plentiful, you might also choose to try some watersports such as kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving.
Affordable Luxury
Puerto Vallarta has long been renowned as a destination where you can enjoy a vacation filled with luxury without breaking the bank, and staying at Garza Blanca Resort & Spa is a terrific example of that. You can indulge in delicious gourmet meals and sumptuous accommodations during your vacation while staying on (or even under!) your vacation budget. The generous exchange rate is another benefit of visiting Mexico from countries like the United States and Canada, making your money go even further in an already affordable place.
For the best February vacations, all you need to do is head to Garza Blanca in Puerto Vallarta!
WHERE TO GO AND WHAT TO DO
One of the best spots for a lively scene in February is the Yucatán Peninsula. Head to the Oaxaca, Acapulco, or Puerto Vallarta. The entire Pacific Coast will be filled with activities and beach time. Here, you can enjoy the real warm Mexican weather and a prominent international crowd. Enjoy surfing, swimming, and cenote diving. Puerto Vallarta is particularly great in February, where you can embark on a ziplining adventure and go trekking through the jungle.
The city surrounds a historic center standing with its small-town charm, and is one of the highlights of the Jalisco’s coastline. From Puerto Vallarta, on Playa Los Muertos, take a water taxi to the picturesque Boca de Tomatlán. It is a seaside village that is less commercialized than Puerto Vallarta but equally as beautiful and quieter. Try the famous ceviche tostadas here and go on a coastal cliff walk.
Continue hiking to the charming beach Majahuitas and the popular Quimixto. Then, take a water taxi to Yelapa – a village renowned for being an inaccessible-by-land destination. Here, you will find yoga retreats and beautiful boutique accommodation, as well as the gorgeous Yelapa waterfall. Make your way to the tiny former fishing village Chacala, which is a charming little place.
There are fewer crowds here, which means you can enjoy a more quiet beach scene, and it is a perfect place for snorkeling. To try the Mexican waves on a surfboard, head to Playa de Mantanchén in San Blas – you will not be disappointed. If you are a birdwatcher, the La Tovara Nature Reserve is definitely for you. You will find many endemic species residing here.
Another superb and quieter spot is Playa Platanitos on the stunning Nayarit Riviera. Head to the small coast of Colima and visit Cuyutlán. Here, you will find black sand and impressive nature scene with a turtle sanctuary- El Turtagario. Another place to see an abundance of black turtles is in Michocán, in among the indigenous communities in Colola and Maruata.
The Colola beach is the most important nesting place for black turtles in Mexico. The reason for that is when indigenous communities decided to recover the black turtle population of the Michoacán coastline, in 1982. Today, an impressive 75 percent of the word’s turtle population can be found here. You will also find beautiful handicrafts to shop for souvenirs here, and it is a bit quieter than the rest of Michoán.
WHAT TO BRING
