I am sad and disappointed by this place. We have stayed here multiple times over the years and have never had a bad experience. This time was totally different. From the time of check in the staff was rude. Our ac didn’t work and had to wait until 11:00pm for someone to fix it. Another guest blocked my car in and the staff weren’t very kind about assisting us. The room wasn’t clean. We were overcharged for the room as well. I was quoted $185 on the phone and they charged my card $243. We asked to speak to the manager who was off site and was supposed to meet with us the morning of check out and we never heard from her. I hope the owners of this establishment are aware of how horrible their front desk staff are because I have never experienced anything like this in all my years of traveling.…

We had a less than fair experience here. The staff has communication skills and customer service; do not expect much. Parking is a disaster. Our room, that we waited for well past check in; so that it could be ” CLEANED” had thick old crusted urine on the toilet rim and fresh urine in the toilet with toilet paper. I had to block out what else I may find. My children would not sleep under the sheets after the bathroom experience. When I shared what I found with the staff they had no response as if this was normal. They offered no solution or comment and did not offer to come reclean the bathroom. The rooms smell like smoke and nany of the guests are smoking outside.. if this is a concern for you. The mattresses are terrible x three rooms in our party. If you HAVE BACK PROBLEMS this is NOT the place for you. One of our rooms had what was described as a roll away bed; it was a camping canvas cot. No cushion; well used and sagging. Honestly location is great but there are other places near by for the sane if not less money.…

I’ve been coming to Dunes for decades. We asked for towels, had to go get them they didn’t make our bed . Parking was an issue There were two vacant spots and we asked if we could park there and they said no you need to park out back two other consumers came and they parked in the same parking spots that we were talking about previously. Drinking in pool area everyday. I still love it there

Our families stayed here recently. The air conditioner never cooled the room beyond 75. If you needed more towels you had to turn in your others to get new. There were bugs surrounding the sinks every day and I finally found out it was because of a nest on the inside upper corner of the room that hasn’t been removed. It’s a shame that the location is so wonderful but the place seems to have changed hands and is going downhill.

Every single day I took a shower the water barely got warm. I am almost 8 months pregnant and would have been more comfortable sleeping on cardboard, the bed was the worst bed I have ever slept in it was like a rock. It was definitely clean and quiet and the beach was perfect cause it was right across the street. BUT for almost 200 dollars a night I think I should have been able to take a hot shower and sleep in a decent bed.

The Dunes may not be very modern. But, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. I traveled with a friend. We wanted to go to the beach for a few days and the Dunes fit the bill. The ocean is right across the street and social distancing was easy. The pool was so relaxing. Plenty of chairs at safe distances. We sat outside our room after dinner and enjoyed the nighttime sea air. Be sure to get up and watch the sun rise. It is beautiful! We will return with our husbands before the end of the season.

Little late to the game on this review from my stay last summer. My trip to Dunes this year just had to get cancelled on the count of the virus so I figured I’d chirp about my last stay. I moved up to Rye from Staten Island a few summers ago and a couple of guys from the group I met at the casino normally pick a different spot at the beach for a big meetup every year. Got a great deal at Dunes Motor Inn up at Wallace Sands for two rooms and they hooked us up with rooms 7 & 8 for a weekday rate even though it was a Saturday on the count of one of our guys Xander was in the National Guard. The bathrooms were just want you want them to be and the pool was nice and warm and the chairs outside around it were clean. The pizza guy could find the room no problem and Dunes Inn let them come right up to the door. WOW! First class! I got the chicken wings too from down the road but man were they too spicy. The sheets had been changed and the TVs were easy to use with all the channels written on this super little convenient card thing. There wasn’t the naked channels though which made things a little difficult for us. Teddy had to hook up his laptop to the tv which had an HDMI cord so we were able to make it work. The video “Church of Fudge” really sounded great on the Phillips TV in room 7. Were were able to slid the bed out of the way cuz unlike a bunch of other motor inns Dunes doesn’t bolt them down which was nice cause we could spread the plastic over most of the floor. Rob or as we call him “Turkey Sausage” or sometimes just “TS” had no prob with his 220v reciprocating saw with the rubber fist he fabricated in it working in the outlets with only a little bit of smoke. We put a latex glove over the smoke detector just in case but it looked like it works and has good battery’s just Incase! We didn’t waste much time getting our clothes off cause the dresser held everything so nicely even though there were 14 of us. After a few hours of heavy scat stuff it was nice that that it’s only one floor so the windows can open all the way. But once we saw there were some kids from the beach in the parking lot we didn’t want them to get spooked by the moans and mostly cause Xander was playing some pretty powerful Rob Zombie tracks. Unlike some of my past reviews the armoires work perfectly as a gimp chest and I can say it was confidence cause the front desk let us borrow some WD40 for his mouth zipper and Chad never had to use his safe word once. Also I know for a fact that that coat rack in there can hold at least 230lbs no problem. TS was getting me pretty good with the saw fist for a while and I regrettably admit that a lot of the Vaseline and cool whip missed the plastic but when I talked to the house keepers they said it happens all the time and it shouldn’t be a big deal. The sink drain in the bathroom actually works pretty good as a ground if your looking to use any clamps from a car battery during your stay but I def don’t recommend it after you’ve had some of those chicken wings! Whoops sorry towels lol! That said the maids were able to swing through towards the end for the circle on chad which was super nice. Turkey ended up getting jibbed and had to use the last of the sheets but the maids were super cool about it. Next day the breakfast was delicious. Cinnamon bun and orange juice for me. No issues with checking out and they even let us leave a few business cards. Great views of the ocean and the new sign really made for a huge upgrade. Definitely will be staying at Dunes Motor Inn again ASAP!!…

For a girls’ weekend away…this place was just right. The beach is directly across the street and you can sit right outside your room and enjoy your morning coffee and the lovely view. Rooms are clean and adequate and certainly reasonably priced. Breakfast is ok if you have no special dietary needs (I’m GF; there was nothing for me. I went next door to the Surf Shop to get a smoothie…YUM!)

We have been visiting the Dunes for a little bit over a decade. The rooms are vast, although a bit rustic, most toilets are small, but we can certainly get over theses details as it is located right in front of one of our favorite NH beach, Jenness, that was just revamped over the past few months. No need to worry about parking. Wake up, grab a coffee, and walk straight across to the beach! It can get pretty busy in high season so I suggest to make a reservation ahead of your visit. Staff is nice.

I have never been ignorant or rude to a guest. The woman, not my daughter, is not unhappy. And my housekeeping staff is good at what they do and have been with me for over 8 years. I can only think of one instance in the recent past where anyone could have thought I was rude. If you are this woman, well…………enough said.
