One such measure is the introduction of the electronic travel authorization that allows travelers from 169 countries around the world to obtain an Indian eVisa in order to visit the country.

The process of applying for an Indian eVisa is simple as it takes place entirely online. In other words, travelers are saved trips to the local embassy or consulate in order to apply for an Indian visa.

Once approved, the eVisa application resolution is sent to the travelers over email, a detail that also saves a lot of time and effort for the applicants.

Do Pole Passport Holders Need an eVisa for India?

Citizens of Poland do have to apply for an Indian visa prior to their arrival in the country. There are several types of Indian electronic visas that Polish citizens can apply for depending on the specific reasons they have for visiting India: for leisure, for business, or for medical purposes.

The Indian eTourist visa is suitable for those travelers interested in traveling to the country on a short-term basis for sightseeing in India’s national parks and/or wildlife sanctuaries, engaging in tourist activities of all kind, participating in yoga retreats or for visiting friends and family in the country.

The eBusiness visa is appropriate for those travelers seeking to engage in business while traveling in the country.

The eMedical visa is designed for people seeking medical treatment in the country. The Indian government also offers the eMedical-attendant visa for those people who would like to visit the country alongside someone seeking medical treatment in the country.

The requirements for each visa type are different, therefore, Polish travelers should consider the unique travel needs that they might have and apply for an Indian eVisa which meets them.

Documents Required for Getting the Indian eVisa for Polish Citizens

Before beginning the application process for any Indian eVisa, Polish travelers must ensure that they have a working email address, valid debit/credit card, and an up-to-date passport.

Additionally, Polish travelers will need to meet the following eligibility requirements in order to successfully apply for the Indian eTourist visa:

  • Having a passport that will be valid for at least 6 months from the date of the traveler’s arrival in India
  • Having at least 2 blank pages on the passport where entry and exit stamps can be placed
  • The Indian eTourist visa is valid for 90 days if approved
  • The traveler must carry his/her eTourist visa at all times during their stay in India
  • Travelers must also have a return ticket or a ticket of onward travel while applying for an eVisa
  • Diplomatic passport holders and holders of international travel documents are  not eligible to apply for an Indian eVisa
  • Each traveler must have his/her own passport regardless of their age in order to apply for an Indian eVisa
  • Parents cannot list their children on their eVisa application
  • Travelers can apply for an eTourist visa a maximum of two times within a given year

Please note this type of visa is not extendable and cannot be converted into another visa type.

Travelers traveling on an Indian eVisa can enter into the country from one of 28 designated airports and 5 seaports. If the traveler plans to enter the country from land or sea, he/she will need to apply for an Indian visa before arriving in the country.

Indian eVisa Application Form for Polish Citizens

To begin applying for an Indian eVisa, Polish travelers will need to apply at the Indian Online eVisa website. The eTourist visa application form can be accessed through this website and the traveler will have to fill out certain personal details, such as:

  • Full name as it appears on the traveler’s passport
  • Date and place of birth
  • Country of citizenship
  • Passport details
  • Expected port of entry and exit from India

Furthermore, Pole travelers might be asked to provide details of the following:

  • Marital status
  • Religion
  • Educational qualifications
  • Professional pursuits
  • Travel details
  • Countries visited in the last 10 years

Poland citizens will also have to answer certain security questions that are presented in the form of a scenario, and travelers have to answer them in a yes/no format based on whether or not they apply to him/her.

In order to complete the application, travelers of Poland will have to pay a processing fee using a valid debit/credit card online. After making the payment, the applicant will get a chance to review his/her application one last time before submitting it.

When Does the eVisa India Arrive for Poland Nationals

After the traveler submits the application, it can take up to 4 business days for an eTourist visa application to be processed. It may take longer than that if there is additional evidence that needs to be submitted by the applicant supporting the information provided in the online application form.

Typically, the additional evidence asked for is the scanned copy of the first page of the applicant’s passport, which contains the applicant’s biographical information.

Additionally, travelers might be asked to submit a recent color photo of themselves, with their face centered and clearly visible from the crown to the tip of the chin. The photo must be in focus and the applicant’s face must not be blurred out.

Once travelers from Poland receive their e-Visa, they will have to take a printed copy of it with them when they travel, as it will need to be presented to Indian Immigration and Border Control officials.

The Indian officials will verify the travelers’ information and take their fingerprints and photograph. After this, an entrance sticker will be placed on the traveler’s passport which grants them entry into the country.
