Friends of ours were struggling to find accurate information regarding the visa process for Sudan when they decided to visit our country, so we decided to write down everything we know. It is a well known fact that the average tourist prefers to travel in a single country or region. Tourists tend to spend their time in the same geographical location in order to get a taste of everything they came to see. Despite this, many people also love to travel to new and interesting places which is why there are still so many tourists travelling every day. While it’s unlikely you’re looking for a visa if you are only passing through the country, the following information could be useful when you have time to spend in Sudan
For Visit / Tourist Visa
Filled-out and signed Application Form. Each applicant should fill out a separate form, even for children of all ages
One (1) passport sized photo attached to the form
A Sudanese National Sponsor (with full details e.g. Full Name, Current Address, Phone Number). Photocopy of the Sudanese passport or Sudanese Nationality ID should be submitted with the application. If no sponsor, we will accept:
A confirmation letter from a Hotel in Sudan containing the hotel reservation details (OR)
A letter from a Travel Agency in Sudan containing the details of the trip.
Original U.S. or foreign passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
Applicants holding National passport of a country other than U.S., must include a photocopy of the U.S. Green Card or U.S. Visa
Applicants holding U.S. Travel Document must provide the Embassy with a copy of an Entry Permit issued by the Ministry of Interior Passport & Immigration in Khartoum, Sudan and a copy of the U.S. Green Card as proof of legal presence in the U.S.
Fee is $154 payable to Embassy of Sudan (each applicant even children)
Applicants sending their applications by mail must furnish the Consular section of the Embassy with a return envelope with tracking number using Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS (postage/shipment paid by the applicant). Failure to send one may cause delay in the return of the passport(s)
Applicants submitting their applications through our walk-in hours ( Mon-Fri Hours: 10:00am – 2:00pm) may bring a self-addressed return envelope with the appropriate stamps for Express Mail, Priority Mail, FedEx, or UPS, if documents/passports are to be mailed back
The normal processing time for Visa Application may take 5-7 business days. Please allow sufficient time to process visa applications.
