How Long Is Summer Break In Bc

The longest holiday in BC is Summer break (23 days when including weekends), Standard vacation time for BC employees is 20 days. BC’s Labour Standards Code requires employers to provide workers with a regular vacation after six months at the company, two weeks are standard. The Free Time B.C. guide to Holidays and Vacations in British Columbia outlines the minimum amount of standard paid vacation and holidays Canadian employees are entitled to:

School is back in session for most of us, but I’m sure there are still a bunch of BC residents out there on summer break. As you’re enjoying the extra time off, don’t forget that summer break in BC isn’t quite like it is in other provinces. We have a ton of holidays, starting with Remembrance Day and Christmas (if you don’t celebrate those holidays, I hope you at least get an extra day off) and ending with Family Day in the middle of February. But what about the rest of the summer? Are we working away into October like our friends to the south of the border?

How Long Is Summer Break In Bc

Summer vacation for some students in BC will start a little later this year. The Ministry of Education announced today that schools in North and Central Vancouver Island, and the Kootenays will extend their school year by two weeks before classes resume in September. Summer recess for the other public schools across BC will be delayed by one week due to concerns about the ongoing wildfires which are burning in the province. School’s out! And, that means it’s time for a summer vacation (whether you’re a student or not). Travelling and visiting friends and family is what many people will be doing over the next 4-6 weeks. If you’re unlucky enough to have to work, it’s important to make the most of your time (unfortunately). To help you make the most of your summer vacations, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite apps to use while on vacation.
