Where are the best places to vacation in New England? You’re probably looking for hill towns, coastal areas, and famous destinations. Here’s a short list of some of my favorites that I think you’ll appreciate! We all love to get out of the house and enjoy some time away from daily life. After a winter’s worth of sitting cooped up next to your computer, you probably just want to go outside. If you are looking for somewhere to take an extended vacation in New England, look no further. I have a list of my favorite vacation spots within this idyllic region of the United States.

New England is one of the most visited regions in America and over 3 million people visit each year. The best part about New England is that it offers you something for everyone. Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or a city-dweller, New England has something to offer for the whole family.

Great Places To Vacation In New England

New England, also referred to as “America’s Oldest Region” and known for centuries as the six original New England states, is one of the most beautiful places in the country. In fact, it was selected Best Overall by the Get Around Index — a nationwide ranking of vacation spots — based on it’s natural beauty and recreational activities. I remember my grandparents talking about how great it was to drive through New England in August. They’d reminisce about how fun it was to pack up their car and just take a road trip down the east coast of the United States. I kept wondering what there was to do in places like Maine, Connecticut, or Massachusetts. Later on in life, I started to realize that there are some great retreats, like lakeside cabins that can be good alternatives to the crowded beaches and amusement parks of Florida or California.
