Renewal

The six month multiple entry visa provides the holder with a stay of 6 months which can be renewed one time for an additional 6 months. If the holder takes an extension they can stay a total of 1 year in UAE with the month multiple entry visa.

B 6 month UAE visit visa for normal travelers

The 30 day on arrival visa also has a grace period of 10 days. Most on arrival visa holders extend their stay by doing an Oman visa run which is quite a time consuming process. Other easier options to stay longer is to use visa change without exit service or apply for a prepaid UAE visa before arrival. You have 2 options in which you can extend your stay in UAE:

  • 1. Secure a 90 day prepaid tourist visa with us before your travel. This 90 day on arrival visa has a grace period of 10 days which gives you a total of 100 days in the UAE. On the 95th day of your stay we can provide you with a new 90 day visa without exit.
  • 2. You can obtain the free on arrival visa stamped in the airport. With the grace period, you have a total of 40 days in UAE. On the 38th day of your stay we can provide you with a new visa that can be obtained without you exiting the country.

2022 New rules due to COVID 19

  • Individuals who hold a UAE tourist or visit visa that expired before 1 March 2020 are given a one month grace period starting from 11 July 2020. By leaving before 11 August 2020, these visa holders are exempt of any fines or violations.
  • On 11 July 2020 the UAE government cancelled the previous decision for foreign visitors whose visas expired in early March or were due to expire in the coming months because of the suspension of passenger flights. Instead the deadline was extended until the end of December.
  • As of now, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship is not processing and issuing any tourist or visit visas due to the COVID 19 situation. Visa issuing will recommence at a later stage after observing the COVID 19 situation locally and internationally.
  • On 10 July 2020, the UAE cabinet tweaked numerous rules for Emirates ID and visas which were passed out during the peak of COVID 19 and announced the recommencing of normal operation in the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA)

UAE residence visa rules and regulations 2020

UAE visitors are categorised into 4:

  • Cancelled the decision which gave a grace period until the end of December 2020 for residence visas that expired in the beginning of March or were about to expire in the further months. This rule was for residents both in and out of UAE.
  • Cancelled the decision to give a grace period until the end of December for Emirates IDs that expired in the beginning of March.
  • Cancel the decision of stopping the collection of administrative fines for any violations cited by the cabinet with regards to services provided by ICA.
  • Provide a time period of 3 months for citizens, GCC citizens and 3xpatriates residing in UAE to renew their Emirates IDs or other documents.
  • Provide citizens, GCC citizens and expatriates who have spent less than 6 month out of UAE a grace period of 1 month from their arrival date in UAE for document renewing.
  • Disregard all monetary fines for the duration before the decision had been released. That is from the beginning of March all the way up until 11 July.
  • Provide expatriates stuck outside of UAE with resident visas expired after 1 March 2020 or those who were staying out of UAE for six months and above,a grace period to return back to UAE from the date of flights recommencing between UAE and current country of residence. This grace period will be decided by the ICA.

UAE tourist/visit visa rules and regulations 2020

  • All on arrival and prepaid visa holders can apply for a new tourist visa without exiting the country.
  • Cancel previously stated decision that tourist and visit visa holders with a visa that expired on March 1 or after were given time until the end of December.
  • An extra 30 days grace period was given from August 11, 2020 onwards for expired UAE visit visa holders. The process for getting the extension has not been revealed yet. Overstay fines will be charged if the visa holder doesn’t exit the country within the grace period.

UAE 5-year tourist visa

During the first Cabinet meeting of 2019, the UAE revealed the launch of its first multiple entry five-year tourist visa. Ruler and Prime minister of Dubai,Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid explained that this visa gives the tourist numerous entries into the country over the five year duration. There is still no news about the visa application fee or the other details regarding this visa.

UAE 10-year visa

The UAE introduced a new long term residence visa in 2019. This new visa system allows foreigners to work,live and study in UAE without requiring a local sponsor. This also gives complete ownership of any UAE based business that they run. This type of visa will be issued for 5 or 10 years and will be automatically renewed.

The federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship have opened an electronic platform (https://business.goldenvisa.ae) known as the Golden Visa system for individuals to apply for the business visa. Individuals with an entrepreneurial background from any country are eligible to apply for this business visa if they wish to open up their business in UAE.

Individuals aiming to apply for the Golden Visa can submit official documents of their projects via the website. The necessary Government bodies will review the applications and documents to make sure they meet all requirements.

2 years employment visa

Foreigners over 18 years of age can seek employment in the UAE required they fulfill all standards laid out by the X. There is no maximum age limit for individuals seeking employment in the UAE. However, for employees over 65 years the employer requires to pay a larger fee. Your work permit needs to be obtained by your employer via the governing body which is the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE). The application process for a UAE work permit is:

  • Employer has to print work permit application via the Ministry of Labours online Tasheel website.
  • Submit necessary documents.
  • After the ministry checks the application, they will request to submit any missing documents or correct certain mistakes.
