Here is my diary entry of the 10 days vacation we took in English.

It is the end of November and I have been to Japan with my friend. We came back to New Zealand yesterday. We had a great time there because we wanted to see snow. The most exciting day was when we saw snow for the first time. It was really cold, as you know, it’s winter at this time. We went to a ski resort on the second day and we played a game that ended with a snowball fight. Then, we bought hot chocolate and went to the hotel in a cable car. At night we went to an onsen(Japanese hot spring bath) in which the water was very hot. I took some photos of frozen leaves on the way home after the trip is over and I’ll take them for my memory of winter vacation.I love winter vacations. I love Christmas. For me, the Christmas Holidays means a long winter vacation with my family and loved ones. We usually visit the mountains for skiing because it is a very close ski resort for us. This year we had an amazing Christmas holiday. The weather was beautiful and snow covered the mountains. It looked like a picture from a postcard as far as beauty is concerned. Dear diary,

Hii, With the season changing, I am all prepared to enjoy my winter vacations. Winters are welcomed at my house and we all love the season.

Even though it is cold, there are lots of fun that happens during this season and we all thoroughly enjoy spending winter vacations in the company of each other.
Last winter was really memorable for me. To begin with, during the first week of vacation, I went snowboarding along with my friends. It was so much of fun that we all enjoyed so much.
After snowboarding for a few days, we switched to skiing. Wow!! It is really fabulous. Though we were not experts, we learnt our way and we had a guide who taught us how to ski correctly. It was so great and exciting to be there. Since there is heavy snow during winters, skiing is perfect.
Apart from playing all the time, sometimes due to heavy snow, we may not be able to step out. At this point of time, we together as a family take our shovels and buckets and dig out a path way to reach out. Though it does take some time and effort, we do as a team work, the entire family enjoys it. We make games while we do the work, to make it more interesting and creative, and sometimes we also make the lovely snowman from the snow that we shovel out.

We play in the snow and make snowballs and have fun by throwing the snow balls at each other. By then it would be Christmas time and it is so lovely to watch every house with burning lights and lovely decorated windows, all in the midst of snow.
Celebrating Christmas, with so much snow is great and we went to our Aunts place for Christmas last time. With plenty of gifts received, so much of yummy food prepared, Christmas really was one among a memorable event for all of us.
Soon after Christmas, we all got prepared for New Year celebrations and welcomed the New Year with all good spirits and prayers.
I look forward to spend a similar winter vacation, in the forth coming vacations too.
Thank you diary…

Dear diary,

This winter vacations, I visited a historical city, Delhi. It was an adventurous and exciting experience. We went to Delhi by train wherein, we first went to our grandparent’s house and then we rested for a few hours. Delhi has been known by different names during different periods. In an ancient period it was known as Indraprastha, medieval times it was known as Tughlaqabad. In Delhi, there are many monuments which are known for its history.

There is the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Jantar Mantar and Qutub Minar which makes the Delhi rich is history and glorious past of India is narrated through these monuments. Whereas, there are many wonders of modern time such as Rashtrapati Bhawan, parliament, Lotus temple and so forth. Delhi’s landmark is Red Fort which is built on the bank of Yamuna River. Shahjahan built the red fort, wherein he had a meeting with the public in one of its portion. Also, in modern time the prime minister of India hosts the flag of India at the red fort on every independence day.

Another major landmark of Delhi is India Gate which was built in the memory of soldiers who lost their lives during the first world war. India Gate is extended into the greater area and has become the picnic spot for people and tourists. Lastly, Delhi has become a major tourist attraction point as it is developed with the metro rails, museums, and center of shopping. Visiting Delhi was a very fascinating experience.

Dear dairy, Jan 17, 16 I enjoyed a lot these winters. Today is the last day of my winter vacations so I thought of sharing with you my experiences. In Christmas I went to a near by mall and enjoyed playing with my frnds in the game zone. Eating sweets , candies, dishes, etc was the most delightful. Then in New Year Eve I went fr an outing with my family to amusement park then we went fr dinner . Rest of the days I spent counting the gifts of Christmas and new year and completed my holiday homework. Well time to sleep as tomorrow I have to wake up early for going to school . Byeee good night.

Today was my second day at the beautiful hill station of Mahabaleshwar. I can feel the crisp air in my lungs and it feels so good to get out of the city for once! I cannot hear any ambulances, car horns, and there is no traffic. There are hardly any cars! I feel very fresh today. We visited the historical sites here today and everything was very beautiful. I cannot believe I have more time in this place. It feels like heaven.

Today we had a very quiet day, and we rested our bodies. It was only the third day after all. I was extremely tired after yesterday’s sight-seeing. So, we took some rest. We had some delicious meals that made me really happy and full. In the evening, we went on a walk, as it was breezy and cool. It is never cool in the city, so it felt very nice. Then we came back to the hotel, watched television, and now we will eat and sleep.

Today is the fourth day. We woke up feeling energized in the morning and so, we set out early to go and see the horses and hike. The horses that we saw were magnificent. They were also really friendly, and I made friends with a horse called ‘Chetak’. He was the horse that was the most loveable. After that, we had a picnic, and then, it started raining. So, we came straight home. It was a day well spent.

During my fifth day, I wanted to explore the shops of handicrafts on my own. So, I went outside and walked ten minutes to the market square, which was not crowded at all. It was peaceful. I went into multiple shops and bought a number of beautiful things. I am going to give some to my friends. Then, I came home to have lunch with my family and I showed them everything I bought. Then, we went out in the evening to a garden full of roses. Then, we had some dinner in a local restaurant. It was a bitter-sweet experience because I am leaving tomorrow. But, we had the best time!
