Court summer vacation is a great opportunity for the whole family to get away from it all. One thing you can guarantee when it comes to summer is that the sun will shine. However, it might not be such a good thing if you were counting on having as much court time as possible. The reason being is this – during the summer months, there tends to be more holidays and breaks which means there are fewer court days. If you can get creative with your scheduling and could use the extra time off, then great! If that means making up sessions in the fall, don’t be afraid to do so.

Every year, the courts take a summer vacation. This is a time when the judges, clerks and staff all take some time off. It is also a time when the court is closed to the public.

During this time, if you have already filed your case and are awaiting trial, it will not be heard until after court reopens in September. If you need to file something with the court before it reopens, you can do so by mail or in person at any branch of the clerk’s office in your county.
