Canada Work Permit For Farmers

A farmer wants a Canada work permit for agriculture in order to gain entry into Canada. The first step is to ensure that the farmer’s country of origin participates in the agreement known as the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) and that there is an agreement between that country and Canada as well. Next, it must be determined if the farmer meets specific requirements set out by Canadian legislation.

If you’re a Canadian farmer looking to recruit skilled foreign workers for a specialized job, there is an important announcement. The Canadian Government has created a new program that can help you hire the talent you need.

Why Canada? The Canadian government aims to improve labour market mobility for their own citizens at the same time as it faces pressing labour issues.

Working for different employers

If you plan to work for other employers (not listed on your work permit), you must apply for a new work permit. We recommend you do this as soon as possible after you enter Canada.

You can only work for one employer at a time, and you can’t work for a different employer until you receive your new work permit(s).

To apply for your new permit(s), follow these steps:

  1. Get the application package.
  2. Complete a separate application on paper for each new employer.
  3. Send all of your applications and supporting documents in the same envelope.
