The Malaysian Immigration Authority launched the eVisa program in January 2016. The eVisa is an official travel document which is electronically linked to the passport of the traveler.

The Malaysian tourist visa permits travel in Malaysia for up to 30 consecutive days, without the possibility to extend. The eVisa can be used for tourism or business reasons and can be used within 3 months of its issue date.

What Type of Visa for Malaysia is Available from Pakistan?

There are a few different Malaysia visa types available. Be sure to review the different types in order to select the one that makes the most sense.

Single-Entry Malaysia Tourist Visa for Pakistan

The most common type of visa issued by the Malaysian Government is the single-entry visa. This eVisa can be used for a stay of up to 30 days, but cannot be extended. If travelers wish, they can apply for a new single-entry visa once every 3 months.

This is currently the only type of online Malaysia visa for Pakistanis available through a simple electronic process.

Multiple-Entry Malaysia Visit Visa for Pakistan

If traveling more frequently to Malaysia for business or governmental projects, the Malaysian Government also offers a multiple-entry visa. This visa is valid for 3-12 months from the date of issue and permits multiple trips of up to 30 days.

To be eligible for the multiple-visit visa, the applicant must demonstrate sufficient funds for their frequent travel to Malaysia. They must also provide confirmation of their return ticket. The multiple-entry visa is not currently available with the online eVisa process. Therefore, applicants will have to apply at the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate.

Documents Required to Apply for the Malaysian Visa for Pakistani Citizens

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all information is accurate on their Malaysian visa application form. Before applying, please review the Malaysia visa requirements.

To apply online, applicants must have a passport that is valid for 6 months beyond their date of travel to Malaysia. They must have a current email address as well as a credit card to pay the online visa fee.

Travelers between the ages of 13 and 18 should fill out their own Malaysian visa application. Children under 12 can apply on the same form with their parent and must submit a copy of their birth certificate.

Other Travel Requirements for Pakistani Citizens Visiting Malaysia

In addition to the printed eVisa, there are a few other requirements once travelers arrive in Malaysia. Travelers will need to show confirmation of a return flight as well as accommodation during their trip. This can be in the form of a hotel or guest house confirmation. If staying with family or friends, a letter from the hosts will suffice as proof. Immigration officers may also request proof of sufficient funds for the duration of the trip in the form of cash, debit, or credit cards.
