The University of Bournemouth’s summer break runs from July 1 to August 31. During this time, the university is closed and no courses are running.
If you are a student and would like to take a break in your studies, you can apply for an approved leave of absence for this period. To apply for leave of absence, you will need to fill out an online form and submit it before June 15th.

NHS courses
Please note that the dates above apply to all undergraduate courses within the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences that do not require professional practice hours.
Midwifery, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Paramedic Science and Physiotherapy courses typically require professional practice placement hours and are subject to extended dates to standard undergraduate courses. Please check with the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences for the specific end dates for these courses.

During the summer period, students will have a five-week block away from teaching that is allocated as a three-week holiday and two weeks of self-managed learning where no formal teaching occurs. These dates are currently unconfirmed.
