In fact, we are planning a spring break vacation right now! I thought writing about our experiences might be helpful for you because everyone knows family vacations can be… complicated. Whether you’re packing for one kid or 15 like me, every parent wants their kids to have fun, learn something new (not school!), and enjoy some quality bonding time.

Spring break offers an opportunity for families to get away from winter and enjoy the weather, find a great deal, or just relax. Whether your spring break is a week long or a short weekend trip, there are plenty of things to do in both Florida and Georgia. Florida has always been the more popular choice for spring break vacation simply because it offers more sun and warm weather.

Spring break is one of the most popular vacations in the United States. Every March, numerous Americans set off on vacation with family with dreams of enjoying themselves during these precious moments. Whether they choose to rock climb, hike or experience other outdoor activities, Americans are always looking forward to the next great break in their lives.

We know that time off work is hard to come by, and it’s important to make the most of your time away from the office. That’s why we’ve rounded up our favorite spring break destinations for families, so you can spend more time having fun together.

Families with older children might want to try one of these options:

  • A cruise: You’ll get to see a lot of different places, and it’s easy for everyone to have their own space if they need it. Plus, no one will be able to escape!
  • A road trip: If you’re up for an adventure, a road trip will give you a chance to bond with your kids while exploring new places and meeting new people. Plus, you won’t have any trouble getting there!

If you’ve got younger kids who need more attention than just watching them play games together in their room all day long, then maybe this destination would be better suited for them:

One option is to take a cruise. This is a great choice because it gives you the opportunity to see different places without having to travel very far, and there are many different things for kids and adults alike to do on board.

1. Dominica, Caribbean

A fun spring break trip in the Caribbean with the family is something you’ve gotta do.

And Dominica is a great choice.

If you’re looking to run away from places that are filled with tourists, you might want to check out Nature Island.

It’s a volcanic island of English speakers between Martinique and Guadeloupe islands in the Lesser Antilles.

From the US it takes a couple of pit stops in Barbados and St Martin.

If you want to hit the beach right away, check out the Batibou beach.

The Indian River is surrounded by rainforests.

You will find waterfalls, rafting options, and hiking trails here.

If you want the children to experience a little more nature here, head towards the island’s northwest coast and check out the Cabrits National Park.

2. Wisconsin Dells, WI

Spring in Wisconsin Dells is wonderful.

The grass is green and the days are long.

Take the young ones to the Water Park Capital of the World and give them a vacation they will cherish for a long time.

First, you must head to Mt. Olympus Theme Park. It’s pretty exquisite.

Then, try a little mini-golf or check out the many dinner and theater attractions in town.

Children can go go-karting or to the B&H Trout fishing and bait shop.

Meanwhile, you and the husband can check out the wineries around.

At night, all of you can enjoy a movie at the drive-in theatre.

Wisconsin Dells offers old-fashioned fun making it one of the interesting kid-friendly spring break vacations you’ve ever experienced.

If you’re outdoorsy, you could go for a rope tour or a zip line tour.

3. Panama City Beach, FL

If you’re thinking of spring break vacation options, you cannot miss Panama City Beach.

It might have been raucous at one point but today it is one of the best spring break getaways for families.

It has over a dozen delightful beaches with the green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Take the little ones on an airboat adventure and spot some alligators and American bald eagles while you’re at it.

Next, you can head to Pier Park and ride on the SkyWheel.

The view of the Emerald Coast is pretty spectacular from up there.

You could also go to Shell Island for fishing or just to spot dolphins.

And here, you can choose to stay at high-end hotels or pick a cozy bed and breakfast place near the gorgeous St. Andrews State Park.

4. Indianapolis, IN

If you’re dreaming of a vacation in April, this big midwestern city is a good option.

In 2020, Indianapolis is celebrating its bicentennial which is all the more reason for you to visit.

Indy is home to the largest children’s museum in the world.

If your toddlers love dinosaurs, don’t forget to take them to the excellent paleontology lab here.

It also has some pretty great exhibits about weather and outer space, among other things.

You will even find a train-themed hotel here.

Moving around the city is pretty easy too with the new Red Line mass transit system making it a piece of cake.

It has one of the largest convention centers in the world with 745,000 square feet exhibit space.

Spend enough time here and you could get lost.

5. Mayakoba, Mexico

If you are looking for a small, secluded destination for your spring break vacation, you might want to consider the beautiful gated community of Mayakoba in Mexico.

It is along the Riviera Maya and is 45 minutes south of Cancun’s International Airport.

Mayakoba means the ‘village of water’ and is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Caribbean’.

It lives up to that name with its network of canals, freshwater lagoons and, of course, gorgeous beaches.

The jungles and lagoons are spread over 620 acres of land.

You will also find some excellent resort options for your stay and it is all done while preserving the natural habitat of the place.

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the local cuisine and some golf and beach clubs that only add to the landscape.

6. Grand Cayman, Caribbean

This place has a familiar touch of home which is only one of the reasons a lot of folks like to go here.

The roads are easy to navigate even though they drive on the left-hand side.

There are a ton of familiar hotel chains and restaurants around George Town.

The Seven Mile Beach is a pretty amazing place for those who love white sand and blue waters.

Head towards the north of the island and you will find Rum Point.

You can also go on a tour in a boat with a glass bottom.

Visit the famous Stingray City Sandbar to snorkel with the friendly southern creatures.
