6 Month Visa For Turkey
The Turkish government implemented a new government regulation for foreign nationals who want to stay in Turkey for a period between 180 days to 1 year on the 30th of May 2009. This regulation, numbered as “art. 32((1)) of the Law Early Departure from Turkey “, which is amended from article 15 of the Law on Authorizing Foreign Nationals’ Residence and Stay in the Republic of Turkey with no No 7458, dated 15 October 1965, shall be effective since the 1st of June 2009. Within the 6 months you will be able to travel to any Schengen country without immigration control and stay there up to 90 days. The EU member states are obliged to mutually recognize their citizens’ residence permits. At the end of your visa period, you can extend the visa up to another 90 days before making the final decision whether you want to move to Turkey permanently or not.(…) Following the new regulation principles set by EU, Turkey is expected to get a blanket visa in near future as well, after it unleashes its full potential. The European Parliament and Council of Europe also support such a positive stance.
