$500 vacation for 2

Introduction

I have a client who’s been living in Denver for the past 20 years. The other day he was telling me about how he does this really cool thing every year: He and his wife take one week of vacation time, and instead of going to the beach or the mountains (or even some nearby city), they pick an interesting place in the world that’s within a 5-hour radius of their home. They fly there with Southwest, rent a car, and spend 10 days exploring as much as they can while staying at Airbnbs or hotels (no camping). So far they’ve done Vegas, Albuquerque, San Diego, Kansas City, Tucson…and dozens of other places. They love it! I thought this was such a neat idea that I went ahead and did it myself. And lucky you—I’m here to share my findings so you can find your next getaway!

Minneapolis

Minneapolis is the largest city in Minnesota, as well as being both the county seat and the state’s largest city. It has a population of about 417,000 people. The city sits on a lake with an archipelago that includes approximately 14,000 islands—the most of any lake in the world! Minneapolis is also home to some of the greatest music festivals like North Country Fair and Summer Jam Music Festival.

Vancouver

Vancouver is a beautiful city with lots of things to do. There are many options when it comes to restaurants, nature and culture.

The city also has a vibrant music scene.

Austin

Austin is a great place to visit. It’s also a great place to live, go to school and visit in the summer or winter.

Seattle

Seattle is the largest city in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, and has a population of over 612,500. It is a seaport city on the west coast of the United States, located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, about 98 miles south of the Canada – US border. Seattle was founded in 1851 by Arthur A. Denny and George B. McClellan as a port town for lumber and mining operations in an area that now includes downtown Seattle, Bellevue (to its east), Ballard (to its north), West Seattle (to its south), Kirkland (to its southwest)and Redmond (to its southeast). The name “Seattle” refers to Chief Sealth (“Sealth”), leader of another Native American tribe who co-founded Seattle with white settlers in 1852 after moving from what is now Bainbridge Island to Alki Point on Elliott Bay ().

In addition to being home to Bill Gates’ Microsoft headquarters, it’s also known for being one of America’s most densely populated cities; with many skyscrapers dotting the skyline along with iconic landmarks like Pike Place Market & Space Needle!

Chicago

Chicago is a great city to visit, and it’s also a great city to live in. The city has a lot of history and culture, with many museums and art galleries. Chicago is also known for its food, including deep dish pizza and Chicago-style hot dogs.

Chicago is home to four professional sports teams: the Chicago Bears (NFL), the White Sox (MLB), the Bulls (NBA) and Fire (MLS). There are also plenty of other things to do in Chicago besides watching sports such as visiting Navy Pier or Lincoln Park Zoo!

You can visit Chicago during many different seasons throughout the year—the summertime weather is perfect for taking boat tours on Lake Michigan or spending time at one of their beaches like North Avenue Beach which has free parking nearby if you don’t want your car towed while you’re gone! In winter months temperatures dip below freezing so bring along some warm clothes if you plan on being outdoors much during those seasons.”

New Orleans

The city of New Orleans is a great choice for your next vacation destination. There are so many things to do in New Orleans, but we’ve narrowed down our favorites to help you plan an unforgettable trip.

  • For attractions, you can’t go wrong with the French Quarter or Garden District. The French Quarter is home to some of the most famous landmarks in New Orleans—Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral and Bourbon Street. While there, try one of local favorites like Café du Monde (for beignets) or Pat O’Brien’s Bar (for Hurricanes). Incidentally, if you’ve been drinking too much whiskey sauce at Lüke Bar & Restaurant (which has earned 2 Michelin stars), then head over to Maison Bourbon for some traditional Creole cuisine before heading back home!
  • If you want something more relaxing that doesn’t involve being stabbed by drunks on Bourbon Street then consider staying at one of these hotels instead: Le Pavillon Hotel de France or Royal Sonesta Hotel. Both have 5-star ratings on TripAdvisor and provide excellent service to all their guests including whatever event they may have coming up such as weddings etc..

Hopefully, we’ve gotten you more excited (and maybe a little less nervous) about exploring your city. Get out there and see what’s going on in the big city. We know the struggle, and we came to these tips—even the one about watching badminton!—through our own trial and error. Remember that the important thing is to keep on trying. As we covered earlier, you don’t have to go super hard on yourself for slip-ups, because this journey can take time and looks different for everyone. Plus, don’t forget that the best way to keep yourself on track is to keep it fun, keep it positive, and keep yourself engaged with the people and the world around you. After all, caring about others is a great reason to switch to this lifestyle in the first place!
